Chris & Amanda | Clarksdale, MS

I don’t even know where to start with these two. Just an absolutely incredible couple with the biggest hearts for people, especially people they recognize have impacted their lives. That’s what their whole wedding felt like, a special letter of love to friends and family in a place they care deeply about, the Mississippi Delta. Yep, a destination wedding for these two who hail from Maine. Who knew our little ol’ town of Clarksdale, MS would because the latest and greatest for destination weddings.

Chris had become involved with the Quawpaw Canoe Company here in town. He spent 6 weeks on the Mississippi River documenting his travels of the river. His lovely bride joined him for part of the trip. They connected to many local people here including my husband and I, and decided to have their wedding here. Easiest people to fall in love with too so I’m not surprised the community here embraced them. Their wedding was simply gorgeous and completely handmade. Amanda sewed her father and groom’s ties. She sewed her own dress too! The entire meal was prepared by family the week before the wedding. Guests got to take home coffee Chris and Amanda created a profile for by working with Clarksdale’s local Meraki Roasting Co.

I also have to mention the ceremony taking place at the coolest open air music venue called The New Roxy. An old movie theater turned into a music venue for the many blues musicians who come to perform. But for this day it was transformed into their ceremony and reception, full of love and laughing and lots of dancing. So glad I had a small part in this celebration and that so many have come to love my little town.
