I had the chance to visit my beautiful sister-in-law and her family for a short time this summer. I had the chance to revel in the cuddles and and hugs with my niece and nephew as well.

Having a newborn is hard. As a mom, nothing feels normal. Your body doesn’t feel right or even your own. Exhaustion is constant. You know children are a gift, but every surface of you is either currently in contact with a small human or bodily fluid remnants remain with you on your clothes.

Yes, it’s hard. But when I had a chance to sit on the sideline and watch through my lens the beautiful small moments with my sister-in-law & her kids, I was able to capture something that is sometimes hard to see through the exhaustion. There is beauty in the difficult. And she is one of the most beautiful people I know.
